Ramparts and Musketry wall, Berry Head, Torbay

These ramparts and musketry wall are part of the defences of military fort built in 1794-1804. They are part of an extensive system of fortifications built on Berry Head, following the outbreak of war with France in 1793. It is one of the most complete surviving examples of purpose-built Napoleonic fortifications in south-west England.
