Roman Villa, Avondale Road, Newport, Isle of Wight

This is a 3rd century Roman Villa. It was excavated by P.G. Stone in 1926. It overlies an early 1st-2nd century Roman building. The villa has a well preserved bath suite. The steam bath has its original flooring and some of the box flues are still in position. The hypocaust (heating system) as a whole is in good condition.
