St Mark, Main Road
St Mark, Main Road, Friday Bridge, Cambridgeshire PE14 0HJ
Parish church built originally as a daughter church to Elm Church in 1864 by the architect J B Owen, in order to serve an isolated agricultural community in Fenland. It lies on the east side of the main road from Elm to March and was built in the fen itself, as evidenced by the settlement seen in the structure. The contemporary rectory on the north side is now a private residence. The church consists of a wide nave in line with a chancel, and with a western tower offset to the north side. A vestry projects on the north side of the chancel and an organ space to the south, and there is a south porch at the west end of the nave.
