Church of St John the Evangelist, Leeds Road - Leeds

Landmark church of 1829 with soaring spire in the Early English style designed by Rickman and Hutchinson. Damage to nave and chancel roofs caused extensive internal damage to historic fabric and finishes. Aisle roofs also in poor condition. A first phase of work to repair high-level roofs was completed in 2017 with funding from National Lottery Heritage Fund's former Grants for Places of Worship scheme. Further phases of repair are required to return the church to good condition.
