Church of St Marie, Manchester Road, Bury - Bury

Victorian Perpendicular Gothic style church by J Harper of York in 1841. The gable is surmounted by an octagonal lantern tower with traceried openings and enriched battlemented parapet. There has been considerable structural movement of the tower resulting in fractured stone and heavy rainwater leakage into the interior. The National Lottery Heritage Fund are supporting a repair project with their Grants for Places of Worship scheme.
