Urban church built1823 by Rickman and Hutchinson; West front remodelled iin the French Romanesque style with terra cotta detailing1899-1900 by H A Prothero. Orientated north-west to south-east and includes a nave of seven bays, a sanctuary with projecting polygonal apse, north vestry and west gallery. The west front comprises an added wide bay. Stuccoed brick with vermilion terracotta and grey roughcast dressings. The roof is clad in slate. Long term water ingress has manifested itself with significant falls of plaster.at high level. A Covid Recovery Fund Grant has developed a repair project.
