Roman Catholic Church of St Peter, Woolwich New Road, Woolwich SE18 - Greenwich

This church in the Gothic style was completed by AW Pugin in 1843. It is listed together with detached school buildings on the south side, completed a decade later by EW Pugin. The external masonry and roofing of the church, along with internal plastered ceilings, were repaired in 2017 with a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The condition of the two-storey school buildings is poor; the upper hall is closed due to structural problems and falling plasterwork caused by roof leaks. The congregation is now seeking funding to repair the school buildings to bring them back into use.
