Roman Catholic Church of St Peter, Woolwich New Road, Woolwich SE18 - Greenwich

This church in the Gothic style was completed by AW Pugin in 1843. It is listed together with detached school buildings on the south side, completed a decade later by EW Pugin. The external masonry and roofing of the church, along with internal plastered ceilings, were repaired in 2017 with a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The condition of the adjacent two-storey school buildings is poor; the upper hall is closed due to structural problems and roof leaks. The congregation is now seeking funding to repair the school buildings to bring them back into use.
