Church of the Holy Trinity, Church Road, Prestolee - Bolton
Church of 1863, constructed in sandstone ashlar with tiled roofs. The tower is supported by massive diagonal buttresses. While the church in general appears in good condition and regularly used, the external stair has significant structural problems that have led to scaffold buttressing being installed and the stairs closed for use. This is significant as the external stairs provide the only maintenance access to the upper tower. The structural issues appear to derive from foundation failure.
