Church of St Mary, School Road, West Walton - King's Lynn and West Norfolk
Large parish church, early C13 with a separate bell tower of the same date, Interior has a C15 hammerbeam roof with carved figures, and medieval polychrome decoration on the walls of the clerestory and the arcade piers. Extensive ground settlement and active structural movement, with leaning piers, distortion in the arcades, and masonry about to detach from the walls. An application in 2017 for a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant was unsuccessful and the congregation are considering to re-apply. Historic England offered a development grant for emergency repairs in June 2019.
