Church of St Nectan, Hartland - Torridge
Parish church C14 and C15 restored c1850 and 1910-11. Nave, chancel, north and south aisles, transept chapels and porches, west tower. Coursed rubble walls, gable ended slate roofs. Tall four-stage tower. Fine interior retaining early fabric and with early painted plaster, medieval wagon roofs, rood screen with evidence of ancient colouring, benches c1540 and C17, late Norman font. Water penetration through south aisle walls, affecting fine wall monuments internally, water penetration to tower walls, leaching and mortar wash-out, causing damp and rot to embedded timbers.
