Former Church of Holy Trinity, Trinity Street, Colchester - Colchester

C14 and C15 church largely built in Roman brick, much restored in 1886 when a North aisle was added. Located in the centre of Colchester with a small churchyard surrounded by pedestrian streets. Owned by the Council, it has been vacant for five years. A community group wish to lease the premises and development plans include new facilities. Rainwater goods and drainage requires overhaul, roof structure requires investigation and internal plaster appears cementitious; all of which are contributing to excessive damp. National Lottery Heritage Fund are supportive of proposals.
