Site of pumping engine at Muxton Bridge colliery - Telford and Wrekin (UA)
Situated within the historic industrial site of the Granville Country Park nature reserve. Includes C19 standing, buried and earthwork remains of the former rotative beam pumping engine, used for draining coal workings at Muxton Bridge Colliery. The condition of the engine house is very poor with loose mortar joints and cracking causing dislodged brickwork, which associated efflorescence, spalling and iron-jacking. There is extreme vegetation and scrub surrounding the engine. Detritus has built up within the shafts. Telford and Wrekin Council are keen to engage and prioritise assessment.
