Church of St Mary, Berry Pomeroy - South Hams

Parish church. Rebuilt in C15 restored in the late C17 and 1878 to 1879. Tower has C13 or C14 west doorway. Stone rubble with freestone dressings and slate roofs, tower rendered. Nave and chancel in one. The church is generally very well maintained and a number of significant repairs have been undertaken. Despite this, the tower remains damp with problems with the render, and the main roofs also need work. The congregation applied in the last round of grants for Places of Worship Scheme from the National Lottery Heritage Fund but was unsuccessful.
