Church of Holy Trinity, Traverse Street, St Helens - St Helens

Church constructed 1857 to design of W and J Hay. Chamfered sanctuary added 1884 by J Gandy. Unusual construction with facings in industrial waste material. Cementitious pointing, gypsum plaster and issues with rainwater goods appear to be contributing to long term damp problems. Some grant aided repair work has been undertaken. However, a protective canopy is positioned over the regularly used worship area and further extensive repair works are required.
