Church of St Margaret, Northam - Torridge
Large parish church. Mainly C15 although lower part of tower is older. Thoroughly restored between 1849 and 1865. The roof slating is nearing the end of its life, and the ceilings are plastered to the underside of roofing battens. The church was awarded a National Lottery Heritage Fund Grant for Places of Worship in late 2016 for the repair of the nave and vestry roofs. Work was planned to start on site by the end of 2018 but has been delayed awaiting slate supply from the quarry. At least one further phase of work to the roofs will then be needed.
