Church of St Andrew, Church Street, Northborough - Peterborough, City of (UA)

Late C12 nave; west end containing four thin buttresses with gabled bellcote. Parapet with dog tooth frieze and moulded coping. C13 aisles. Chancel contains two windows with reticulated tracery. Very large south chantry chapel commissioned by Geoffrey or Henry Delamore. Mrs Oliver Cromwell reputed to be buried beneath. Cromwell's daughter married a Claypole. Splendid C16 funerary monument. Chancel roof covering leaking; south chapel floor and elsewhere: much algal growth indicative of excessively high moisture retention. External drainage probably faulty.
