Church of St Andrew, Church Street, Northborough - Peterborough, City of (UA)
Parish church with much Norman and Early English fabric remaining. Late C12 nave; west end with four thin buttresses with gabled bellcote. Parapet with dog tooth frieze and moulded coping. C13 aisles. Very large south chantry chapel commissioned by Geoffrey or Henry Delamore. Mrs Oliver Cromwell reputed to be buried beneath. Chancel roof covering leaking; south chapel floor and elsewhere: much algal growth indicative of excessively high moisture retention. External drainage unsatisfactory. Historic England currently in discussion with Parish to discuss options.
