Upper Gun Terrace, 10 metres west of Shrubland Hall, Barham - Mid Suffolk

Part of the extensive gardens at Shrubland Hall designed by Sir Charles Barry. The terrace extends almost across the whole width of the west front of Shrubland Hall. Contains a cannon captured in 1855. Gravel paths overrun with vegetation and decorative urns in a poor condition - some missing. Roots of vegetation are wedded between the masonry to the southern end of the terrace. Condition is declining. Historic England is actively working with the owner and the Local Authority and discussions are ongoing.
