Church of St Peter, Chapel Lane, Wymondham - Melton

Church of C13 origin with C14 and 15 contributions. Much restored in C19. Ironstone church with ashlar dressings comprising west tower with spire, nave with clerestory, north and south aisles, north and south transepts, chancel, vestry and south porch. By 2022, much of the ironstone is badly weathered; tower stonework was in particularly poor condition with many open joints, localised holes and notable cracking. North aisle roof coverings were in poor condition and required replacement. Repair proposals were prepared in 2022, but resources are limited, and funding opportunities are scarce.
