Church of St Giles, Gartree Road, Great Stretton, Little Stretton - Harborough
Church dating from C12 and rebuilt in 1838. Rubble stone, with coursed squared stone and largely C15 reconstructed ashlar tower. No longer an active place of worship having closed in 2022. Its future is uncertain and there is no known progress regarding disposal. Masonry in poor condition and there is damp internally. Guttering and downpipes need refurbishment and below ground drainage requires improvement / repair. Tower base and parapet repairs where undertaken in 2013. A quinquennial inspection was undertaken in January 2023. Further stone repairs are anticipated.
