Church St Mary the Virgin, Church Road, Bolnhurst and Keysoe - Bedford (UA)
The oldest part of church dates from C12 with the north aisle and south porch added in C14. North chapel, tower and spire C15. Stone is falling from the tower, possible structural instability. Lengthy inspection and 'first aid' on tower and spire in 2018 led to a substantial amount of loose render and a dangerous gargoyle head was removed, Leaning south parapet. Investigations and emergency repairs carried out to the tower and spire but some urgent work remains. Condition and options to be reappraised.
