Church of St Mary, Church Road, Ovington - Braintree

Parish church dating from the C12, with C14, C15, and C16 alterations. The continuous nave and chancel roof is tiled, and has a canted plaster ceiling. There is outward movement and cracking in the north and south walls. Deformation in the roof structure and discontinuity between it and the wall plates, cracking in the ceiling, and wind-driven rainwater penetration of the roof slopes are causing progressive failure of the battens and tile fixings. Parish seeking funding.
