Church of St Wistan, Church Nook, Wigston - Oadby and Wigston
Early C14 tower remains of a church demolished C17. The rest was rebuilt in 1853 by Walker and Goodacre and restored 1877 by R J & J Goodacre. Tower of limestone, otherwise uncoursed granite rubble and Welsh slate roof. The rainwater disposal system is undersized and ineffective. Failing joints in gutters have caused long-term water ingress into earthen mortar core of walls, resulting in separation of external fabric. The failure of the external face is evident. The congegationl were previously keen to effect repairs and seek funding, however the process of closure is underway.
