Brick Kiln, Chimney, Drying Sheds, Boiler and Engine House at Bursledon Brickworks south Section, Coal Park Lane, Swanwick - Fareham
Steam driven brickworks complex in use from C19 until 1970's with what appears to be the earliest surviving Staffordshire type continuous kiln. Now a Brickworks Museum. Historic England Repair Grant saw roof repairs to the significant brick kiln in 2023. The brickworks complex remains at risk due to the vulnerability of the unsupported walls to roofless drying sheds. National Lottery Heritage Fund have grant-aided a Development Phase for repairing and converting the drying sheds. An enabling development scheme will see further repair works. Funds needed for building fit out for flexible use.
