Church of St Helen, Church Street, St Helens - St Helens

Town centre church designed by WD Caroe, built between 1916 and 1926. Constructed from brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. Following extensive repair of the aisle roofs, tower roof and parapet walls, all supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund's Grants for Places of Worship scheme, a considerable fault was detected to the east wall of the chancel which is currently being rectified prior to a further repair phase of work to the nave roof.
