Church of St Edmund, Fore Street, Kingsbridge - South Hams
Large parish church of cruciform plan with transepts, north and south aisles to nave, chancel aisles and two-storey south porch. The C13 tower remains, church was rebuilt and dedicated 1414. Restored and extended 1849 and 1896. Internal decorations are in poor condition and have staining in numerous places. The congregation has ensured regular maintenance of the valley gutter since dry rot outbreaks in 2015 and 2018. Windows and stonework problems are urgent, particularly to the west end and a programme of repairs are planned. The north boundary wall has a significant outward lean.
