Church of St Edmund, Fore Street, Kingsbridge - South Hams
Large parish church of cruciform plan with transepts, north and south aisles to nave, chancel aisles and two-storey south porch. The C13 tower remains, church was rebuilt and dedicated 1414. Restored and extended 1849 and 1896. Internal decorations are in poor condition and have staining in numerous places. Staining below valley gutters that may be failing. Windows and stonework problems urgent. A blocked valley gutter has now led to dry rot outbreak in south aisle, the congregation is consulting the church architect on remedial work.
