St Peter's Church, St Peter's Close, Bethnal Green E2 - Tower Hamlets

St Peter with St Thomas was designed by Lewis Vulliamy and completed in 1841 in a neo-Norman style. Vestries were added to the east end in early C20. The church is built of flint facework on brick cores with dressings in Bath stone and terracotta. In 2023, ceiling panels fell and causing asbestos contamination, resulting in closure. The ceiling is now restored but there is still the organ to be cleaned and some external repairs to attend to. Trees are damaging the churchyard railings. The church is still engaged with raising funds.
