Queens Hall, Market Street, Wigan - Wigan
Built in 1906 as the entrance to a concert hall, since demolished, and now used as a Methodist Mission. Constructed of red brick, with stone-coloured dressings, this three-storey block with attic and turret forms a striking focal point on the street. The main concern around condition relates to the turret which has suffered structural movement, deterioration of ironwork, loss of terracotta detailing and excessive vegetation. Surveys have been undertaken and small-scale holding repairs are planned, whilst funding is sought for the large-scale repair works needed.
