Church of St Chad, Old Hall Lane, Knowsley - Knowsley
Designed by Paley and Austin, this Gothic Parish church with Norman details is distinguished by its red sandstone exterior, ashlar interior and high tower with saddleback roof extending centrally above the choir. Now suffering from multiple areas of water ingress, areas of decay to the roof structure, delamination of the external stonework and extensive graffiti. Recent surveys have clarified issues which need addressing and efforts are ongoing to restore its condition and secure its future in the community.
