Barn at Rook Hall, Eye - Mid Suffolk

Late medieval timber framed barn with significant structural issues, requiring intervention to protect the special interest of the site. A Historic England Repair Grants for Heritage at Risk grant has been awarded towards the cost of temporary works needed to stabilise the structure. These works were implemented in June 2018. The timber frame has been secured, and missing tiles and bargeboards replaced. Ancillary structures have been robustly stabilised to protect the building for the next few years. Discussions required to consider and agree next steps.
