Northern block and courtyard walls of Alice Billings House, Stratford E15 - Newham
A block of firemen's accommodation built for the West Ham Fire Brigade c1905-06; a rare example of the incorporation of a practice hose/drying tower separate from the fire station building. It has been vacant and deteriorating since the 1980s. Funding was awarded through Newham Council's Active Spaces programme in 2021, and the Levelling Up Fund, to Creative Land Trust to convert the building into affordable creative studios and community café. Stage 1 NLHF funding has been secured and further funding is sought. The un-listed southern block has already been converted.
