Church of St James, London Road, Shardlow and Great Wilne - South Derbyshire
Parish church,1846, by H I Stevens. History of structural movement to tower and a long history of iron cramp damage generally with some previous repairs having failed. Rainwater disposal is problematic, cast-iron windows are in poor condition. Drainage and masonry repairs required. A repair project supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund completed in late 2019. Not all necessary repairs were affordable. Recipient of an Historic England Covid 19 Emergency Heritage at Risk Response Fund grant in 2020 for further repairs. Further repairs are required; a large fragment of stone had fallen.
