Church of St Mary, High Street, Totnes - South Hams
Former priory church rebuilt 1430-60. Random Devonian rubble with red sandstone dressings, some pale limestone dressings and parapets, and sandstone tower. Tower stonework is poor, needing extensive repointing. North aisle parapet and stonework decaying. Ground gutters poor. Rainwater goods need painting and vegetation removed. Internal damage to windows from rusty ferramenta (iron work) and deteriorating paint throughout due to damp. A phase of high level repairs was completed in 2021 focusing on the south elevation and tower pinnacles, but as of 2022 substantial repairs are still needed.
