Brookwood Cemetery, Brookwood - Woking
A commercial garden cemetery of immense scale founded in 1852 for London's dead with its own railway. Still active with tombs and monuments for many denominations, faiths, nationalities and groups, C20 military and woodland sections heighten the site's significance. Acquired by the Local Authority after longterm lack of overall management, repairs to signficant structures, improved landscape infrastructure/management is welcome positive enhancement. With an ambitious future plan outlined in a masterplan in 2020 support for the commitment to bring greater resilience to the cemetery is ongoing.
