Tortworth Court, Falfield / Tortworth / Cromhall - South Gloucestershire (UA)

Important Victorian house and grounds, including renowned arboretum. House now a hotel and part of grounds lost to Leyhill Open Prison. Walled garden has been redeveloped for light industrial use. Extensive loss of trees in park, but some replanting underway. The registered area is in multiple ownership and suffers from a lack of holistic management. The 2016 Conservation Management Plan for part of the registered park is undergoing implementation. This includes de-silting the lake (now completed), grant-assisted by Historic England. The Arboretum is being managed separately by volunteers.
