Lansdown Cemetery and Beckford's Tower - Bath and North East Somerset (UA)

A cemetery consecrated in 1848, incorporating features of a former pleasure ground and ride created by William Beckford and the architect Henry Edmund Goodridge in c1825-7. Key design features have been neglected and are in declining condition including the Grotto Tunnel. The landscape has become fragmented as a result of different ownership. Beckford's Tower (listed II*) has also been placed on Historic England's Heritage at Risk register for 2019. The Beckford Tower Trust are currently drawing up plans for an application for National Lottery Heritage Fund grant.
