Woburn Farm, Addlestone - Runnymede
An Arcadian 'ferme ornée' designed by Philip Southcote from 1734-5, highly influential in the history of garden design but rather ephemeral in nature. Now in divided ownership and varying uses, little of the ornamental farm remains today apart from relics of Southcote’s boundary circuit wall along the wooded banks of the Bourne stream and isolated parkland architecture features which sit within highly fragmented settings. With high levels of loss of historic design intention and character the park’s integrity needs assessing through a comprehensive understanding of the heritage assets values.
