Great Barr Hall, Walsall - Walsall / Sandwell
Parkland and pleasure grounds, partly by Humphry Repton and John Nash. Much of the historic park was built over as a hospital in C20, in turn replaced by a modern housing estate. Due to longstanding lack of regular maintenance, the pleasure grounds and planting around the lakes are now completely overgrown. The banks of the lakes are being eroded, though repairs to some outfalls and spillways were carried out in 2017. Proposals for conversion of the hall to a hotel and new housing in the park have been refused, and the house and associated land were put up for sale in 2021.
