Church of St Swithun, Church Street, Long Bennington - South Kesteven

Located on the site of the former priory, a large parish church dating from early C13, with C14, (aisles constructed) C15, and C19 work, restored 1902-3 by Scorer and Gamble Architects, (ceilings in nave and aisles assumed from this date). The church north aisle has suffered from structural movement related to poor rainwater disposal arrangements and ground drainage affecting the bearing strata. The chancel roof is leaking and there is general interior dampness. A Heritage Lottery Fund Grants for Places of Worship grant offer for development activities was accepted in 2017.
