Wickham Court, Layhams Road - Bromley

A large C15 semi-fortified manor house built by Sir Henry Heydon. The square plan has castellated octagonal turrets located at each corner. The once-open courtyard has been roofed in and contains a central stair. The house was leased and occupied by a private school. It suffered from storm damage and a lack of maintenance, but a collapsed tower has since been rebuilt and some repairs were undertaken prior to the sale of the property. The new owners, a religious group, are seeking funds to address the major upgrade required to the buildings.
