Wraysholme Tower, Lower Allithwaite - Westmorland and Furness Council (UA)

Late C15 pele tower, now cowshed and barn. It is constructed of rubble stone masonry with a stone slate roof carried on a timber roof structure that appears to be C19. Failure of the slate fixings, roof detailing and rainwater goods has caused saturation of the masonry beneath. It is also having an adverse effect on the adjoining farmhouse. The location of the farmhouse makes repairs and maintenance more challenging due to the need to bridge over its roof. A repair project to address these issues should also improve the rainwater goods and ensure that the need for future access is minimised.
