Hall I Th Wood, Hall I Th Wood Lane - Bolton

Small manor house, now a museum. Timber framed building dates from early C16, with extensions in coursed stonework in 1591 and 1648. It is suffering from several serious structural and condition issues, including movement in the stonework and timber frame resulting in temporary and permanent props; decay in the timber structure; failure of plasterwork due to water ingress and movement; concerns about the condition of rainwater goods and drains, and damage to the windows. Currently closed to the public, work is now planned to understand the interrelated issues and the repairs needed.
