Windmill, east Street, Alford - East Lindsey
Windmill. Tower mill of 6 floors. 1837, restored 1979, built by Alford millwright, Sam Oxley. Tarred brick. The wooden ogee cap and sails were removed for safety c.2020 following rot within the structural elements. Sails now entirely lost, cap and fantail require substantial repair. A temporary cap is in place over the top floor of the mill to minimise further deterioration. Lincolnshire County Council is keen to effect repairs and working towards full cap and sail reinstatement. Funding has been secured for proposed repairs.
