Greyfriars former monastic building, Broadgate - Lincoln

The building is believed to be one of the earliest Franciscan churches in Europe and the oldest friary building in England. It was remodelled for other uses, including a school and latterly a museum. The main clay tile roof covering is in a poor condition. Repairs to the Welsh slate roof of the C19 extension have been undertaken. The building is currently vacant. However, the City of Lincoln Council is working in partnership with Heritage Lincolnshire and Historic England and has been awarded a Heritage Lottery Fund grant to help determine repair needs and future uses.
