Cromford Mill, Buildings 1,18, 26 and Aqueduct, Mill Road, Cromford - Derbyshire Dales

Cotton mill factory complex from 1771. Building 18, the original mill, suffered significant fire damage in 1929. The building houses an introductory film on the ground floor, but the upper storey is unoccupied and dilapidated. The lightweight roof structure and asbestos covering is failing. Drainage is problematic. Historic England awarded the Arkwright Society Covid 19 Emergency Response Fund grants to address loss of revenue and subsequently a project development grant to assess re-roofing options. The Society has been encouraged to apply for further grant aid for 'interim' re-roofing.
