Cromford Mill, Buildings 1,18, 26 and Aqueduct, Mill Road, Cromford - Derbyshire Dales
Cotton mill factory complex, built from 1771 onwards. Gritstone with Welsh slate roofs. There has been a long running programme of repairs and conversions under the auspices of the Arkwright Society and the site now hosts many uses and events. Part of Building 18, the original mill, houses an introductory film associated with the visitor centre in Building 17, but it remains largely unoccupied and its roof covering is failing. Historic England has awarded the Arkwright Society Covid 19 Emergency Response Fund grants to address loss of revenue and to assist with future fundraising.
