West stable at Shireoaks Hall, Thorpe Lane, Shireoaks - Bassetlaw

Early C18 stable and outbuildings, possibly by Sir Thomas Hewitt, located to north west of the Hall, and set in C17 and early C18 formal landscape. A pair to the East Stable. There are many slipped , broken and displaced slates on the roof. Past slate repairs are now failing and the north ridge is missing. Masonry is open jointed, cracked and displaced particularly in locations where the downpipes used to be. The stable and outbuildings are shrouded in vegetation.
