East stable and outbuildings at Shireoaks Hall, Thorpe Lane, Shireoaks - Bassetlaw

Early C18 stable and outbuildings, possibly by Sir Thomas Hewitt, located to north west of the Hall, and set in C17 and early C18 formal landscape. A pair to the West Stable. There are many slipped, broken and displaced roof slates. Masonry is open jointed. There are crack and displaced blocks. The building is shrouded in vegetation and a significant self-set sapling is growing through the roof. The outbuildings are in a ruinous state.Historic England has encouraged the local authority to consider options to secure this site in recent years but we are not aware of any action having been taken.
