Shireoaks Hall, Thorpe Lane, Shireoaks - Bassetlaw

Country house, circa 1600 with later alterations, set in remains of C17 and early C18 gardens. The hall has been much altered historically, including the removal of the attic storey. There is some significant cracking and loose masonry at high level; there is a risk of imminent collapse. Roofs are evidently in poor condition and some ceiling plaster has failed. Rainwater goods appear to be ineffective and undersized. The north elevation has been shrouded in vegetation. Historic England is encouraging the local authority to consider options to secure this site.
