Engine house, boiler house and workshop, Papplewick Pumping Station, Longdale Lane, Ravenshead, Ravenshead / Papplewick - Gedling

Pumping Station was laid out 1881-84 by the Nottingham Corporation Water Department to the designs by the Corporation engineer, M Ogle Tarbotton in a Gothic Revival style. The chimney is generally sound, but brickwork and stone dressings require repair. Brickwork suffers from significant efflorescence. The brick boundary wall and the significant timber framed Boiler House porch are in very poor condition. The whole site is vulnerable given the significant repair needs of key buildings. Historic England funded 2022 development work and Arts Council England awarded a repair grant in early 2023.
