Lammerside Castle, Wharton, Westmorland and Furness Council (UA) - Yorkshire Dales (NP)

C14 ruined castle of two storeys and with vaulted cellars. Collapse of facing stone and rubble core has been caused by frost action, root action and stock. Mature trees are growing out of the walls. Deterioration has accelerated during the past couple of years. Requires major consolidation works. Historic England are in discussions with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority to look into funding opportunities to undertake recording and consolidation.
