The Old Rectory, Claypit Street, Whitchurch Urban - Shropshire (UA)

This C18 former rectory was used as a listening station during World War II. Urgent works were previously undertaken to make the main roof weatherproof but until recently the service wing remained in very poor condition, being badly affected by differential settlement. Section 106 contributions secured for the repair of the building has enabled a scheme of underpinning and other works to be carried out and completed this year. The redevelopment of the building is complicated by adjacent land and property ownership issues and the owner is still exploring options for its re-use.
